There is a moment — somewhere between Turn 3 and the sweeping arc of Turn 5 — when you stop thinking about where you are and start simply driving. That is what A1 Motor Park does to you. Sitting at 585 metres above sea level in the Rila mountain range outside Samokov, Bulgaria, this is not just another piece of tarmac. It is the first purpose-built, FIA Grade 3 and FIM Grade B homologated racing circuit on the Balkan Peninsula — and every millimetre of its 3.91 kilometres was designed with one purpose: performance.
